2026 Great Pumpkin Pitch

An influx of pumpkins is headed your way!

Every fall, pumpkins arrive at community food scrap drop-off stations in a BIG way. From the last week of October through the second week of December, residents are looking for somewhere better than the landfill to send their pumpkins. The 2026 Great Pumpkin Pitch with GoZERO makes it easy to do so.

Whether you already operate a community food scrap drop-off program or want to try composting for the first time, now is the time to plan for pumpkin season.

GoZERO also offers event-based compost services for your pumpkin-themed celebrations. Reach out at the link below to set up your event sustainably.

Already have a GoZERO drop-off station? Plan for more pumpkins.

Pumpkin season creates a predictable spike in volume. If you've participated in previous years, review your historical usage and plan for additional capacity before pumpkins start arriving.

We recommend ordering additional carts for your stations in advance, especially at your busiest locations.

If pumpkins are left around full compost containers and GoZERO staff have to collect them, the regular rate for each additional cart of pumpkins applies, plus a $20 loading fee for the additional time and labor required to gather the overflow.

Need even more capacity? Go bigger.

For busy collection sites and community pumpkin events, GoZERO can provide a 20-cubic-yard roll-off box dedicated to pumpkin composting.

Rates include transportation, box rental, and tonnage tip fees.

Roll-off boxes are available while supplies last, so early reservations are encouraged.

If your first box fills and you need another during November, GoZERO can swap the full box for an empty one for less than the cost of the initial placement and collection.

Rates do not include promotion costs, contamination, damage, or other unintended uses.
